I rebuilt riverbus over the last year or so. Why? ...you might ask. I still have big plans for her and I didn't think the 1st version of riverbus was up to the task. Here's a few of the improvements...She now has 2 30ft long hulls (instead of 3 20ft hulls) with an increased buoyancy total of 20,000 lbs. This doubled her speed, which is now at about 20mph and increased her fuel efficiency. She can also safely carry a lot more passengers and supplies.I replaced the rapidly rusting steel frame with aluminum angle iron, which is lighter, stronger, and will take longer to corrode into dust. She is now 8.5ft wide, which is the legal width to transport on the highway. I no longer need oversize permits. That was a bigger PIA than I expected.I added a galley with a gas stove and faucet on the stern. The new bow can slice through some bigger waves. The wheels on the trailer are now on the outside, where they should be.I added a little more character to the design.youtu.be/Q9yFKUOMS8w
Another great trip to Lake Powell. It's my 2nd favorite manmade place on earth.
